As we study the scriptures we see a thread that runs throughout about a call to come home to a relasionship with God through his son Jesus Christ. Listen as Elder David Nichols shares his study of this theme through the bible.

* From the beginning Adam in the garden - Genesis 3:8-9
* Noah called to the Ark - Genesis 7:1
* Moses call by God through the Burning Bush - Exodus 3:3
* The calling of Samuel - I Samuel 3:4-11
* The calling of King David - 1 Samuel 16:11
* The Lord speaks to Isaiah - Isaiah 1:18-20

In the New Testament the theme continues:
* The call of the deciples - Mark 1:16-17
* The call to eternal life - John 5:37-40
* If any man thirsts - John 7:37-38
* The Father and Son will abide - John 14:23-26
* Jesus call the disciples to eat a meal - John 21:9-12
* Christians are called to a Holy Calling - 2 Timothy 1:9-10
* Called to fellowship - Revelation 3:20
* Called to return - Revelation 22:12

With all the calls shown in the scriptures the question we must ask is "How will we respond to the Lord's call?

The Bible declares on many different pages that the child of God will endure many trials. How is the believer to respond in these situations?  To discipline is to train. Correction, education, hardship, opposition and suffering.

Three Truths:
1) Consider your example (vs. 3) - to think trough thoroughly. Who is our example? Why it is Jesus Christ.

2) Consider our blessings
3) Consider or benefits (vs. 10-11) - why are we corrected? For our good:
