1) Why are we to live as witnesses for Christ? (Phil 1:12)

* To advance the gospel
* Why is the purpose of the church & believers? - to live a holy life?, to glorify God?, to fellowship with the Lord?, to worship? - All of these things can be done better in Heaven so this cannot be the answer. The one thing that we can do better here than in Heaven is to be a witness. (see Mathew 28:18-20)

2) How do we live as witnesses? (Phil 1:12-14)

* Where we are.
* Notice where Paul was when he wrote these verses. (See Acts21:27- Acts 28:30) The life and example of Paul.
* As a result our lives will be an encouragement to others.(Phil 1:14)
