Text: Exodus 7:13-17; Phil. 1:6; Psalm 73:12-20

Listen as Dean Self brings us a message about the will of the Lord.

God will 1) Cause things to happen  or 2) Allow things to happen. While man has responsibility ( see the example of Adam and Eve in the garden) we should never think that our choices will change or determine God's will (Phil. 1:6)

Examples:
1) Jonah - when we are out of God's will we have to "pick up the tab".
2) Joseph - While his brothers meant it for evil God meant it for good.
3) Pharaoh - He did not trust in the Lord and look at what happened!

If you harden your heart God will "super-size" it, but if you trust in the Lord then he will "tenderize" it.

Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-23

As we experience the mercy of God we are able to pass on the things of God to our children. If we want our children to know about God then we must take time to:

1. Teach them
2. Not forget
3. Remember that you have a story to tell.

Text: Hebrews

The theme of the book o f Jesus is "Jesus is far better!".
While the author of the book is unknown it is inspired by God.
The recipients of the letter were Christians especially Jewish Christians.
Why was the book written?
1. To emphasize that Jesus provides a superior basis for relating to God. (Hebrews 10:19-22)
2. To emphasize the importance of encouraging one another. (Hebrews 5:11)
3. To challenge the readers cocerning the importance of maturing in the Christian life. (Hebrews 5:11-6:20)
4. To challenge the readers to draw near to God as the basis of endurance. (Hebrews 4:14-16)
5. To encourage the readers who at some point in the past faced significant persecution. (Hebrews 10:32-34; 12:4; 13:13-14)
6. To challenge the readers to assemble together on a regular basis. (Hebrews 10:25)
7. To encourage the readers to run the race looking especially to Jesus as the greatest example (Hebrews 11 thru 12:1-2)

Text: Genesis 1-3

The book of Hebrews begins with God and in Genesis we see God from the beginning of the bible.  So before we jump into Hebrews let's look back first in Genesis.

We see God as:
1. Creator
2. Provider
3. Forgiveness

As we study Hebrews we need to look at the reality of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
