This week we continue our study in Chapter 8 of the gospel of Mark and our look at warnings to the church.
As we ended our study last week we were looking at false teachers in the church. (see also Jude 3-4)
* The importance of doctrine in the church.
* How failing to study the scriptures can lead to incorrect beliefs.
* The role of discipleship.

Text: Mark 8

This week we continue our study in Chapter 8 of the gospel of Mark.
After feeding the 4000 Jesus and the disciples traveled by boat to the other side of the Sea of Galilee.
II. Jesus warns the disciples about the teaching of the Pharisees
III. The response - they were worried about the lack of food on the boat.
IV. Jesus Rebuke - "Is your heart hard?" - Jesus wanted them to be spiritually discerning.
* What are some of the warnings in the scriptures? 1. False teachers

Text: Mark 8

Jesus cares about people.  In this section of the book of Mark we see that he cared for both the people and their needs and the disciples.
I. Compassion for the crowd.
     1. The had not eaten for 3 days.
     2. They would pass out on the way back home.
     3. Jesus feeds the 4000 men plus the women and children.
     4. There are seven large baskets left over.
* While Jesus took care of their needs he is more concerned with our spiritual health.

 Listen as Dean Self teaches on the pioneer missionaries and their job as divine woodcutters. 
* The missionaries job is to clear a path for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
* There will be obstacles/trials along the way.
* These trials are a blessing in disguise.
* God is able to use these obstacles.
