Text: Colossians 3:17
What are you handing down to those in your family? There is nothing more important than to give them a Godly legacy. Listen as Pastor Thad continues this study on the family. Review: * Legacy - something passed down from one generation to another. Are you rooted in Christ? (see Col. 2:6-7) * A Key Verse - Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” Word - meaning anything spoken; referring to the tongue. (see also James 3) Deed - meaning one’s actions or behavior. * What a father or mother does in moderation; a child could completely embrace. This Week: * Issues That Cloud A Godly Legacy 1) Materialism - the theory that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good and highest value in life. 2) Busyness - one who is engaged in much activity; at times to the point of being distracted. 3) Tolerance - leeway for variation from a certain standard. 4) Feminism - the belief in the social, political, economic and religious equality of the sexes. 5) Addictions - the condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or involved in something 6) Career - an individual’s course or progress through life. It is traditionally seen as a course of successive situations that make up a person’s work life * A Godly Example - Mary - Luke 1 1) She acknowledges He is worthy of glory and honor. 2) She acknowledges that He is Savior. 3) She acknowledges His greatness. 4) She acknowledges His sovereignty. |
