I. He prayed for protection (vs. 13-16)

     -how does Satan attack the believer today?

          a) by attacking the very message of the gospel

          b) by our public testimony or how we believe

               - how are we changed?

                      1. they are not of the world

                      2. purpose

                      3. focus - it was no longer about them

II. He prayed for sanctification (vs. 17)

       - They were set apart by the truth

       - They were given a mission to proclaim the word and make disciples
